On any boat, every structural element should be both functional and resistant to changing conditions. Osculati inspection hatches meet these requirements by combining solid construction with a refined design and everyday usability. Approved under Directive 2013/53/EU and rated with watertightness class 2, they are suitable for installation on vessels across all design categories – from A to D, including navigation zones IIa, III, and IV.
Opening options – tailored to your setup
Osculati offers hatches with a variety of opening mechanisms, making it easy to choose a version suited to your installation space and technical needs. Covers with a 180° hinge are ideal when quick and full access to internal compartments is essential, such as in storage or technical spaces. Versions with the PUSH-PULL system provide smooth operation without protruding elements and open to 175°, which is especially useful in confined areas. Where movement is more limited, hatches with a 160° opening angle are available. Also noteworthy are hatches with a removable bayonet-style cover, perfect for console installations where quick and tool-free access is frequently required.
Durability and safety on board
All Osculati hatches feature a non-slip surface, improving onboard safety – even in wet conditions. Most models are designed to be walkable and can safely bear the weight of crew members. They are made of UV-resistant BASF-grade plastic, well suited to the marine environment and requiring minimal maintenance. High-quality neoprene gaskets ensure watertight sealing, protecting internal compartments from moisture and water ingress.
Aesthetic and color-matching options
Beyond mechanical differences, Osculati hatches also vary in their visual design and finish. Models are available with either visible fasteners or fully flush covers with recessed hinges and concealed screws. This makes them easy to integrate into the deck line without disrupting the vessel’s aesthetics. Four color options are available – white, cream (RAL 9001), black, and grey (RAL 7042) – allowing for seamless visual coordination with different deck finishes.
Versatile applications
Osculati hatches are suitable for a wide range of marine applications, including access to technical compartments, stern lockers, partitioned storage, or fish holds. Thanks to the broad range of sizes and structural options, they work well in both new builds and retrofit projects. Their versatility gives designers and boat owners freedom in how space is organized below deck.
