More and more people are looking for something beyond pure performance on the water. Quiet operation, simplicity, and ease of use are becoming just as important—especially for smaller boats.
That’s exactly the direction the Mercury Avator range is heading. These electric outboard motors are designed for lightweight boats, inflatables, and sailboats, offering solutions that simplify boating and make everyday use more intuitive.
Quiet operation and a calm character
One of the first things you notice is how the engine operates.
Electric propulsion eliminates the vibrations and noise typical of combustion engines. Boating becomes smoother and significantly more comfortable, and the motor itself doesn’t dominate the experience on the water.
This is particularly noticeable during shorter trips and recreational use, where a sense of calm and ease is what matters most.
Simple operation and ready to go
The Avator range has been designed as a complete propulsion system. The motors feature intuitive controls and a digital display showing, among other things, battery status and estimated range. This gives the user ongoing insight into how the system is performing and makes it easier to plan time on the water.
The 7.5e model uses an integrated plug-and-play lithium-ion battery that can be quickly installed or removed.
In the 20e and 35e models, the system is based on external, modular batteries that can be combined to extend both operating time and range.
Mercury Avator 7.5e – simplicity and mobility
The 7.5e model was designed for lightweight boats and relaxed cruising. It works well in inflatables, dinghies, and small boats, where mobility and ease of use are essential. The motor delivers around 750 W of power, comparable to a combustion engine of approximately 3–3.5 HP. The battery, with a capacity of about 1 kWh, allows for roughly one hour of operation at full power, or significantly longer at lower speeds.
It’s a solution for those who want a simple drive system for short trips and occasional use.
Mercury Avator 20e – more power and flexibility
The 20e model expands on this concept by offering greater capability. It delivers around 2.2 kW of shaft power, which translates into performance comparable to a combustion engine of approximately 5 HP.
The main difference lies in the power system. Instead of a single battery, users can rely on a modular setup that allows multiple batteries to be connected, extending operating time.
This gives the 20e greater flexibility—both in terms of range and how it can be used.
Mercury Avator 35e – more power for longer trips
The 35e model is designed for larger boats and users who need more than basic mobility from an electric drive.
It provides a noticeably higher power output, comparable to a combustion engine of around 9.9 HP, making it suitable for larger recreational boats and inflatables.
Like the 20e, it uses a modular battery system that allows the configuration to be adapted to the intended use and extended running time. This makes the 35e suitable not only for shorter outings, but also for longer, more relaxed trips.
A modern approach to boating
The Avator range shows that electric propulsion is not just an alternative—it can be a conscious choice.
No emissions, simple operation, and the ability to tailor the setup to individual needs mean these solutions are becoming increasingly common on smaller recreational boats.
It’s a different way of boating—quieter, more predictable, and focused on comfort.
